We also turn our focus to Black History Month, exploring stories that illuminate the resilience and brilliance of the African diaspora. Our coverage includes a look at historic Black self‑sufficient towns that once thrived despite systemic barriers, offering lessons in empowerment and collective strength. We examine the acclaimed documentary Bigger Than Africa, which traces the enduring cultural impact of West African traditions throughout the Americas. Additionally, we revisit the Tignon Law, a striking example of how Black women transformed restrictive legislation into a powerful expression of identity and style. This issue celebrates legacy, resistance, and the creativity that continues to define Black history.
