PONDER THIS! Troubles Do not Last Always By Hazel Rosetta Smith

Categories: Hazel Rosetta Smith,

As we shake our heads wondering how we slipped into a sinkhole of profound uncertainty, we search for a source of positivity somewhere; a song, a prayer, or a familiar phrase to help maintain peace of mind.

When a health concern weighs heavy on your mind, it is stress and anxiety of what it means that can catapult the condition to greater heights. Though it is a natural reaction, worry is a dangerous dilemma. Hard to avoid or navigate in the strongest of characters.

I have been struggling recently with unexpected health challenges that continue to linger. Without any exaggeration, I confess it has been a mighty effort to hang tough in the rough.

With a spirit of coping with the discomfort of feeling sick, taking tests, and pushing forth every ounce of energy to make doctor appointments, I do believe there must always be hope that help is on the horizon and a resolution is possible. Every day is a new day, and every moment of every day is an opportunity for healing.

Granny would say “trouble don’t last always” and raise her hands to the heavens in confirmation that, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Those words have been a guiding mantra for me through many unsettling predicaments. I know there is a light in the tunnel to show the way, as we follow all possible medical measures and do not create negative thoughts with doubt and fear.

Reason with wisdom as its foundation will offer the guidance that is expected from those who are assigned to our care. We cannot expect to survive thinking the old way is the only way. Medicine and treatment have come a long way with  information readily available to patients and doctors. Those who are not willing to move forward will be left behind.

None of this is doomsday news, but an awakening of minds in those chosen to render the most diverse and mandatory services for the good of all. Good must outweigh the bad; the strong must uplift the weak; the unsure shall seek discernment of the truth; and the believers will pray for God to lift his mighty hand and heal.

While you are going through whatever health challenges are on your plate, it may be difficult to communicate. When you are not feeling up to par, making a call is harder than one may think. Friends feel you are neglecting connection, and family members think the worst. Those closest to you believe you are withholding some unethical secret. There is only one truth that must be focused on in times of trouble – who is the one that is in charge. Stay steady, trust, and believe that help is on the way.
