PONDER THIS! Seven Days of Self Recognition By Hazel Rosetta Smith

Categories: Hazel Rosetta Smith,

So rarely do we turn blessings inward.  We spend an enormous amount of time hoping and praying the best for others and ignore the positive thoughts we need for ourselves.

Recently, a friend shared with me a self-ritual daily commitment. She was ecstatic about how encouraged and enlightened she felt it  changed something inside those years of self-criticism had been building.

Every morning for seven days before leaving the bathroom, stop in front of the mirror, look into your own eyes and say out loud with intention. I am enough, I am capable, I am worthy of everything good. What is being prepared for me is coming and I am ready to receive it.

Say it out loud not in a whisper, because speaking these words while looking into your own eyes reaches a place inside you that years of silence never could.

On the seventh morning, pause before speaking. Just look and notice what has changed in the eyes of the person standing before you. Seven days of self-recognition leave a mark that you will feel before you can explain it.

If you are going to start this practice of proclaiming these words over yourself, begin with assurance in the sound of your voice, say it adamantly, I am worthy of everything good.

Speaking truth and goodness over yourself is an ancient gesture, the same one that has been used for generations to bless those we love and today the power evoked by hearing yourself speak to yourself will  have a profound effect.

Our thoughts live in our worries and the weight we carry without telling anyone. As I shared this self-blessing effort with readers, I took on the process for myself.  For seven mornings I stood looking into my eyes in my bathroom mirror.  I blessed myself speaking aloud the prescribed words, I am enough, I am capable, I am worthy of everything good. What is being prepared for me is coming and I am ready to receive it.

It has been seven days, and I am as ecstatic as my friend was when she passed this effort on to me.  I had to admit I have received something needed for a very long time.  Something so simple that takes just a few minutes of personal attention to remind yourself not to forget to keep a positive flow of energy for yourself.  Learn to bless yourself with gratitude and thankfulness every day.  God created you to be more than you ever imagined. The person looking back at you on the seventh morning will not be the same person who started seven days ago.
