HOLLYWOOD, CA – The wait is over! The highly anticipated motion picture “Michael,” the biopic of Michael Jackson, is finally in theaters. This is the cinematic event fans have been waiting for. The movie captures both the soul and the spectacle of the boy who became the King of Pop. On Monday April 20, 2026 from 7-10pm, Lionsgate hosted a spectacular premiere for the film “Michael” at the Dolby Theatre and TCL Chinese Theatre and transformed Hollywood Boulevard into a magical music wonderland replete with moving stars who moonwalked down the black sparkly carpet for the start of a spectacular evening including Jaafar Jackson, Juliano Valdi, Nia Long, Jaafar Jackson, Juliano Valdi, Nia Long, Colman Domingo, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier, Larenz Tate, Miles Teller, Kendrick Sampson, Mike Myers, and Deon Cole, alongside director Antoine Fuqua, screenwriter John Logan, and producers Graham King, John Branca. The Jackson Family was also in attendance Marlon Jackson, Jackie Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, La Toya Jackson, Katherine Jackson and Prince Jackson. 

    “Michael” is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of The Jackson 5, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.

    Lionsgate also went all out for the after-party at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, taking over the pool, lobby, and main events space. Costumes from the film were on display throughout the event, and, of course, Michael’s music was blasting with D-Nice at the DJ booth. Some of the stars in attendance included Stevie Wonder, Usher, Martin Lawrence, Mario Lopez, Ron Isley, Magic Johnson, Chance the Rapper, Steven A. Smith, Karrueche, Jason Derulo, Mario, Wale, Vivica A. Fox, Raven Symone, Kai Cenat, Dwight Howard and Michael “Venom” Page.

    The star-studded cast of “Michael” are Jaafar Jackson as Michael Jackson; Nia Long as Katherine Jackson; Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson; Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones; Kat Graham as Diana Ross; Juliano Valdi as young Michael Jackson; Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy; KeiLyn Durrel Jones as Bill Bray; Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe; Miles Teller as John Branca.
